Getting a Handle on an Inherited Site

Rising Star Press has had an online presence since 1998. A new owner took over in early 2002, and she came to me for help with the site. It had previously been managed by a group that produced and hosted sites for small publishing houses, and it looked as if a different person with a different method worked on each page of the site!

After changing the domain registration and moving to a new host, I set about trying to create a more coherent approach to maintaining the site. Very few outward changes were made, but I added new content, implemented CSS, and did a lot of cleaning up after years of too many hands in the pie.
