The amazing Glenda Watson Hyatt won the Mega Marketing Makeover earlier this year. My part of the prize package was to set up a blog to support her upcoming (now recently published!) book, I'll Do It Myself: A Collection of Memories from a Woman Living with Cerebral Palsy.
This was a definite challenge for me because I had never done a WordPress template before! I seriously considered hiring someone to do it for me, and then I realized I would be missing the point by doing that.
I gave myself a crash course in WordPress (ok, definite trial and error, with an emphasis on the error). I learned from Glenda that WordPress is rated very highly in terms of accessibility, so it was important to keep her blog on that platform.
The look and feel was set by the banner provided by another participant in the contest, so my task was to create the template per Glenda's wishes and set up the blog...and that I did.
